Initial situation
Due to strong growth, the existing SwipBox website could no longer meet the new requirements. Content was maintained statically, making management time-consuming and inflexible. The goal of the relaunch was to create a modern, easy-to-maintain website that offers more design freedom and can be independently expanded by the SwipBox team.
What we have achieved
In collaboration with SwipBox, we developed the new website based on Craft CMS - a modular, user-friendly system for easy content maintenance and extension. The decoupled frontend was implemented with Angular in a headless approach, enabling a performant and scalable solution.
To speed up development, we used our library of customizable standard components. The design provided by SwipBox was refined and implemented together. A highlight is the accessible text overlay for flexibly placed, responsive image descriptions.
Thinking of everything: Accessible image descriptions
A special highlight of the new website is the smart integration of image information. To make the explanations of the images accessible, we developed a flexible text overlay that can be precisely placed on the image using X and Y coordinates. The positioning is calculated relative to the image size, so that the descriptions are optimally displayed on all screen sizes - for a consistently responsive and user-friendly experience.
